Jawa / CZ camping weekend

Welcome, my first rally of the year kicked off with a new one that I had not been to before- but, having a 2/ bike handy meant that it would have been rude not to go.......

Jawa CZ Owners Club camping week end at The Coopers Arms, Pewsey in Wiltshire, a small village but having lovely road to get to it and quite a few pubs to slake one's thirst...after which one can get quite extrordinarly pissed as well.

The rally site was a well-mowed field, with a useful little hut, catering for tea and coffee, and running hot water with chairs......this is really setting the standard now and I hope other owners clubs start to take notice. The diminutive Jawa CZ club is trail blazing in this area and I hope the bigger bike clubs- just because they have bigger pots and smoke slightly less than Jawas ( eg the URA ) will have to start catching up ( with out the use of the AA .....Charles )

There's people on the pitch........ Pub breakfast (Free camping) Tea and Coffee and a BBQ Saturday afternoon, gave a hassle-free day for the weary rider, I counted about thirty bikes with many more people arriving and going through the weekend so it was quite busy at times.

As Jawa rallies are entertaining enough, I was amazed at the saturday night appearance of KK, a 15 piece acid-skiffle band who notoriously upstaged Ded Daffodil on their comeback tour at Milton Keynes Goth-Expod 2004, where they were beaten off the stage with the enraged Daffodil's zimmer frames.

KK ...have they lost their edge since the Ded Daffodil incident ? Or is it the missing synth' oboe in the lower registers........and they didn't play Wild Rover once...( sob) Local fans thought that the missing synth' oboe meant Reg had to carry too much with the accordion, to my ear they sounded spot on- but I WAS quite pissed at the time.......
